Paoay Lake National Park and Protected Landscape

I'm truly impressed on the Malacanang of the North palace that turned into museum because despite the lapse of time, they were able to preserve the beauty of the place. Just few kilometers from the palace is the Paoay Lake, it is the freshwater system in Paoay, Ilocos Norte. It is located 3 kilometers away from the sea in Suba. The lake is composed of natural of fresh water, where over 300 crop farmers are provided with irrigation to supply water for their crops. Paoay Lake is locally called dakkel danum.

The most prominent feature of the municipality is Paoay Lake. Legend has it that it was the site of a barangay filled with wicked people buried under feet of water after ignoring the warning of a mysterious old woman who came to the place..

A spectacular view of the lake..

On the shores of the lake lies a mansion that belongs to the Marcoses.

After seeing the breath-taking view of Paoay Lake, our guide showed us the famous Paoay Church also known as St. Augustine Church..
