After learning the history of Ilocos at Museo Ilocos Norte, we headed now to another church which is the Laoag Cathedral, also known as St. William Cathedral. It was built in 1612 by Augustinian friars to replace a wooden chapel, and is known for its Italian Renaissance design.
The church has an unusual two-storey façade, supported by two pairs of columns on each side of the arched entrance.. |
Just besides the church was the Sinking Bell Tower, which sinks into the ground at a rate of an inch a year.. |
Different view of the bell tower.. |
Ilocos City Hall |
Monument of the Tobacco Monopoly |
Ilocos Capitol.. |
Lots of Love,
